Back in July, Voicebrook announced the launch of DraftDiagnosis, a groundbreaking generative AI feature designed to revolutionize how pathologists handle eCP cancer reports. Voicebrook is the first and only provider of pathology reporting solutions to utilize generative AI to draft diagnoses in cancer case reports, improving accuracy and efficiency.
Want to learn more? Read on, as we answer some of the most common questions we hear regarding DraftDiagnosis!
Q: What is DraftDiagnosis?
A: DraftDiagnosis is an advanced, real-time reporting feature in VoiceOver PRO. DraftDiagnosis is a first-of-its-kind generative AI feature designed to help pathologists draft their CAP eCP diagnoses, ensuring that their reports are accurate, complete, and compliant with best practices.
Q: How does DraftDiagnosis improve the pathology reporting process?
A: DraftDiagnosis goes beyond simplifying the CAP eCP process for pathologists—although that’s certainly a great benefit. By automating the data aggregation process, it significantly boosts pathologists' efficiency. Instead of manually compiling data from cancer checklists to draft a final diagnosis, pathologists only need to input information once. Then the AI-driven DraftDiagnosis feature gathers and summarizes the data for the diagnosis, which the pathologist reviews before submitting the report. This approach reduces the risk of human error, saves valuable time, and ultimately leads to improved patient care.
Q: How is DraftDiagnosis different from the traditional way a pathologist would draft a CAP eCP diagnosis?
A: Traditionally, summarizing the final diagnosis from the CAP checklist required pathologists to manually review and interpret all of the eCP data—a process that is not only time-consuming but also susceptible to human error.
DraftDiagnosis changes the game. With just a voice command of "draft diagnosis" (or a quick hotkey press) the AI steps in to automatically extract and summarize all essential data from the checklist into a preliminary diagnostic draft, ready for the pathologist to review and approve.

Q: What if I don’t like the diagnosis produced by the AI feature? Do I still have control over my report?
A: Yes! Your report belongs to you, and DraftDiagnosis does not take your place as the pathologist. The AI feature simply aggregates the data you already entered in your checklist and pulls it all together in a draft for your final diagnosis. If you disagree with any of the information generated by DraftDiagnosis or wish to alter anything, you retain complete control to do that.
Please note: if something appears incorrect in the diagnosis drafted by the AI, chances are there is an error in the checklist data you entered! Be sure to go back and double check to ensure that all data elements in your checklist are correct.
Because DraftDiagnosis is a relatively new addition to VoiceOver PRO, Voicebrook continues to refine and improve the outputs generated by the AI feature, based on early adopter feedback.
Q: How does DraftDiagnosis contribute to improved patient outcomes?
A: By ensuring that pathology reports are accurate and free of errors, DraftDiagnosis directly contributes to better patient care. Accurate pathology reports are critical for determining the correct diagnosis and treatment plan. By minimizing the risk of errors in these reports, DraftDiagnosis helps ensure that patients receive the right treatment based on accurate information.
Q: What security measures are in place to protect data in DraftDiagnosis?
A: Voicebrook places a high priority on data security, and DraftDiagnosis is designed with robust security features to protect sensitive patient information. The AI feature complies with all relevant regulatory requirements, including HIPAA and GDPR, ensuring that all data is handled securely and confidentially. DraftDiagnosis leverages the power of Microsoft Azure OpenAI services, a platform renowned for its robust security protocols.
Q: How exactly does Microsoft Azure ensure the security of data?
A: Voicebrook hosts our own instance of Azure OpenAI that is isolated for network usage and application usage. This means that no third party actors can access our OpenAI service considering the network protection and application-level authorization. Azure provides end-to-end encryption, ensuring that data is protected both at rest and in transit. This means that all data processed by DraftDiagnosis is encrypted, making it inaccessible to unauthorized parties. Azure does not save any input data after processing is complete. Once DraftDiagnosis has generated the preliminary diagnostic draft, the data is immediately discarded and not stored on Azure’s servers. This non-persistence policy ensures that patient data is never retained beyond its immediate use.
Q: What support does Voicebrook offer for implementing DraftDiagnosis?
A: Voicebrook provides comprehensive support for the implementation and ongoing use of VoiceOver PRO and DraftDiagnosis. This includes training for pathology staff and technical support. We welcome your feedback for future refinement of the AI feature to make DraftDiagnosis work even better for your lab. Voicebrook’s team works closely with clients to ensure a smooth transition and maximize the benefits of using our pathology reporting solutions.
