DraftDiagnosis: A Comprehensive Q&A

Let’s talk about a game-changer that’s set to revolutionize how pathologists handle cancer case reports. We at Voicebrook are thrilled to introduce DraftDiagnosis, a first-of-its-kind generative AI feature designed to help pathologists draft their CAP eCP diagnoses.
Imagine this: a pathologist enters all the necessary checklist information into Voicebrook’s pathology reporting software. Traditionally, to summarize the final diagnosis from the CAP checklist means that the pathologist must go back to manually review and interpret all of the eCP data -- a time-consuming process prone to human error.
Enter DraftDiagnosis. With a simple voice command: “draft diagnosis” or clicking a hotkey, the AI springs into action, intelligently extracting and summarizing the crucial data into a preliminary diagnostic draft which the pathologist can then review and approve.
DraftDiagnosis isn’t just about making life easier for pathologists (though that’s a pretty nice perk). Our CEO, E. Ross Weinstein, puts it best: "DraftDiagnosis enhances pathologists' efficiency by eliminating the need for manual data aggregation from checklists. It streamlines the process so pathologists only input information once, allowing the AI feature to gather and summarize the data in the diagnosis."
This means fewer chances for human error, more time saved, and, ultimately, better care for patients. Win, win, win.

During the research and development of DraftDiagnosis, Voicebrook’s VP of Product, Melanie Shedd, and her team noticed a recurring issue when reviewing real-life pathology reports. Pathologists sometimes had discrepancies between their final diagnosis and the information they had entered in the eCP checklist. Simple errors, due to the repetitive and manual nature of the process. "The process of going back in the checklist to reproduce that information in the final diagnosis can open the door to replication errors,” says Shedd.
DraftDiagnosis is designed to fix that. By automating the summary process, it ensures the final diagnosis is spot-on every time. No more double-checking, no more mistakes. Just accurate, reliable reports. This standardization helps treating clinicians provide better patient care, as they can trust the integrity of the pathology reports they rely on.
Says Shedd: "Where the patient is concerned, you can never have too many safety nets to ensure accuracy.”
If you’re as excited about this as we are, you’ll be thrilled to know that DraftDiagnosis is part of Voicebrook's Summer 2024 VoiceOver PRO product release, which hit the market on June 18th.
It’s not just a step forward; it’s a leap into the future of pathology reporting. Here’s to fewer errors, faster reports, and better patient care!
Sure, innovation is great, but what about security? Ensuring the safety and privacy of patient data is our utmost priority. In our next blog post, we’ll delve into the security features of DraftDiagnosis, powered by Microsoft Azure OpenAI services, and how Voicebrook safeguards your data.
