Voicebrook
Our Story

Pathology is what we do. It's the only thing we do.

Voicebrook is privately held, headquartered in Roslyn Heights, New York. Founded in 2002, we've been exclusively focused on anatomic pathology since 2009. We don't build for radiology, ambulatory documentation, or general clinical dictation, so our platform, implementation, and support are tuned to pathology workflows in ways broader vendors cannot match. Labs buy us once and stay: our average customer relationship runs over nine years.

That focus shows up in what we build. VoiceOver PRO®, our flagship, is the reporting layer that sits above whatever speech engine and AP system a lab already runs. It delivers pathology-tuned reporting that makes sign-out faster and more accurate, without asking anyone to replace the tools they depend on. Alongside it, Accelera™ brings the same pathology-aware dictation in a lighter-weight package, and SynoptIQ® adds CAP synoptic cancer reporting. Three solutions, all built for the one discipline we serve.

Our purpose

To help patients get results.

Every report we help finalize is a patient waiting for an answer. So we measure our work in pathologist hours recovered, turnaround reduced, and, equally important, report accuracy.

Accuracy is where speech alone falls short. When pathology moved from transcription to direct speech recognition, pathologists gained speed but lost the second set of eyes their transcriptionists provided. The errors that slip through are small on the page and large for the patient. 2.5 cm heard as 2.5 mm changes the stage. Right flipped to left. A misrecognized case number puts the report on the wrong patient's chart. One small word inverts the diagnosis.

VoiceOver PRO puts that review back, and makes it better: field-level validation, CAP eCP completeness checks, auto-staging, case-number reconciliation against the AP system, and laterality and specimen-count checks, all at sign-out, before the report reaches the treating physician.

From the CEO & Co-founder

“When my wife was diagnosed with breast cancer, our world changed overnight.

We met with two surgeons that day. The first one: forty minutes. A physical exam. The line I’ll never forget: ‘You are going to be with us for a long time.’ The second one: an hour and a half. She walked us through the report.

We chose the surgeon who explained the report.

I recognized the pathologists’ names. They were working at health systems where we had deployed our software: Northwell, Catholic Health Services of Long Island. Our work was right there in my family’s care.

The pathologist isn’t the end of the story. The patient is.

I couldn’t be happier to tell you that my wife is well today. Helping patients get results. That’s the work.”

What that means for how we work today

That breakthrough shapes every decision Voicebrook makes. When a pathologist is frustrated with us because something isn't working the way they need it to, we know it's coming from a good place: they care deeply about helping their patients, and they carry that responsibility every day. They're not just pathologists or customers; they're people helping other people , and we exist to empower them to do that work.

When pathologists make requests that other vendors would call "out of scope," we ask a different question: is what they're asking for grounded in helping patients get results? If it is, we work with them to find a solution.
