Pathology News Roundup: March 2026

USCAP 2026. The United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology (USCAP) kicks off its 115th Annual Meeting this Saturday, March 21, in San Antonio, Texas. With more than 200 scientific and educational sessions, platforms and poster presentations, the 2026 USCAP Annual Meeting is a must-attend popular event. More than 5,000 pathology professionals attended last year's conference.

Voicebrook is excited to exhibit at USCAP yet again... be sure to visit us at Booth 517! We'll be demonstrating how we help labs:

  • Improve efficiency with speech-enabled reporting and workflow automation

  • Reduce manual navigation and repetitive tasks for pathologists and PAs

  • Support structured reporting, CAP cancer protocols, and compliance requirements

  •  Integrate seamlessly with LIS platforms and the growing digital pathology ecosystem

We’ll also be showcasing the industry’s first fully speech-enabled digital pathology ecosystem, enabling pathologists to navigate cases, interact with slides, and complete reporting workflows using voice within numerous leading digital pathology platforms.

If you're attending USCAP, we’d love to connect and show you what the next generation of pathology workflow looks like. See you there!

VB DividerWhat We’re Reading: Women’s History Month. In honor of Women’s History Month, Pathology Outlines highlights a group of pioneering women whose contributions helped shape modern pathology. From groundbreaking discoveries in neuropathology and cancer research to foundational work in enzyme kinetics and cytopathology, these trailblazers advanced both science and clinical care—often while overcoming significant gender barriers.

The feature spotlights influential figures such as Myrtelle May Canavan, who identified Canavan disease; Maud Leonora Menten, co-developer of the Michaelis-Menten equation; and Dorothy Stuart Russell, a leader in brain tumor classification. It also honors innovators like Sophie Spitz, Elizabeth Stern, Georgina Hogg, Priscilla Dienes Taft, and Maria Magdalena Dąbska, whose work continues to influence diagnostics and patient care today.

This is a powerful reminder of the lasting impact women have had on pathology, and the importance of recognizing the individuals who paved the way for innovation, discovery, and excellence in the field. Be sure to check out the article on Pathology Outlines' website to learn more about these amazing women!
