Voicebrook announces availability of VoiceOver® Enterprise 2.0

Major product enhancements to the company's flagship product will accelerate the use of speech recognition in creating medical documentation.

Lake Success, NY, March 17, 2004 -- Voicebrook, a leader in innovative uses of speech recognition for medical documentation, today announced the launch of VoiceOver® Enterprise version 2.0, an integrated set of tools that work with many of the leading Computerized Patient Record (CPR) systems. Using VoiceOver® Enterprise, caregivers can create medical documentation within an existing hospital information system by voice. Built on standard Windows programming conventions, VoiceOver® Enterprise is compatible with virtually all EMR, CPR, CPOE, RIS and PACS systems in use at healthcare providers today. Voicebrook Professional Services can configure and customize the product to the unique needs of individual healthcare providers.

In addition to the base product, database "Plug-Ins" are available for a variety of medical disciplines and specialty practices. "Plug-Ins" extend the functionality of the VoiceOver® product by providing a SQL compliant database for both stand-alone reporting and integration with medical documentation systems. All plug-ins support the HL7 messaging standard (version 2.1 or higher) ensuring secure data transfer between a desktop workstation and back-end medical information systems. Medical disciplines supported with VoiceOver® 2.0 include: Radiology, Cardiology, Pathology and General Medicine.

"VoiceOver® 2.0 incorporates best practices from dozens of successful, award-winning implementations," says E. Ross Weinstein, Voicebrook President and CEO. "With this product, Voicebrook continues to expand the use of speech recognition throughout healthcare provider organizations."

Using VoiceOver® 2.0, physicians can dramatically improve both the quality of medical reports and the speed by which they are created. "Our physicians now perform virtually all of their patient reporting using speech recognition" said Dr. Stern, Director of Radiology at Bronx Lebanon Hospital "Using VoiceOver®, we have reduced outside transcription costs by over 80%. Voicebrook was able to implement a speech-based solution for the hospital, and then quickly migrate that solution to another system, when the hospital implemented a CPR system from IDX."

VoiceOver® 2.0 operates on standard desktop PCs running the Windows operating system. The new product adds features allowing medical professionals to work in networked, enterprise environments where they move from workstation to workstation and always require secure access to their individual voice profiles and patient records. Additionally, VoiceOver® includes over 300 medical templates and user-defined normal observations, allowing medical professionals to dramatically accelerate creation of medical records.
