Voicebrook is looking to hire a highly motivated Product Engineer to help enhance our offering

Voicebrook is the leading provider of speech recognition and reporting solutions for Pathology; we empower Pathologists to save time, save money and save lives. Voicebrook is seeking a Product Engineer with a work-life balance devotion to quality system design. Solid database experience is essential, knowledge of the entire stack is a plus.

Here is what you will be doing at Voicebrook:

  • You will be part of a self-organizing Agile team, focusing on working together to build the best products and solutions for our customers.
  • You will help with designing, implementing and validating products/services, with an eye on aligning to customer needs and company strategy
  • You will focus on usability, performance, scalability, extensibility, infrastructure and data analytics.

  • Your formal education includes a BA/BS/MS in computer science or related subject area.
  • You have 5+ years of recent experience as a hands-on developer.
  • You have some experience with data modeling (logical and physical) and object modeling.
  • You have experience with developing secure solutions where privacy and integrity of data are paramount.
  • You are experienced with SQL server and management studio, along with database management & best practices
  • You have experience with Windows services and or Web services.
  • You have recent experience with applied object-oriented analysis and design.
  • You have recent hands-on experience developing complex software products and applications.
  • You have recent experience working with relational databases, modern design patterns and enterprise development, (WCF, ADO.NET and Entity Frameworks a plus)
  • You have experience with network protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS, and BGP.
  • You have a keen ability to analyze and solve problems both independently and within a cross-functional team environment.
  • You are driven to learn and explore new technologies and apply them to solving problems.
  • You’re self-aware and are continually looking to improve yourself (knowledge, skills, abilities).

Some things that are not required, but may help you perform this job:

  • You have worked in a small development team environment and have the ability to wear multiple hats at any one time.
  • Your ability to communicate complexity is excellent (oral & written) and you are able to communicate with highly technical as well as non-technical audiences.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft, Nuance or other speech recognition technology.
  • Experience with development of products/solutions that target healthcare.
  • Experience with information security paradigms and implementations, HIPAA knowledge is an added bonus.
  • Experience with performance optimization and tuning of web applications and databases.
  • You have recent experience with automated testing/QA.
  • You’ve recently transitioned a traditional FAT client application to a hosted model and/or built a replacement offering (such as a web application).
  • You have experience with cloud service technologies such as Amazon AWS/EC2 and Microsoft Azure.
  • Experience using .NET Framework, C#, Visual Studio, WPF with MVVM.
