Printing Blocks in PowerPath using VoiceOver

Printing Blocks in PowerPath using VoiceOver

histology_cassette_labels.jpgHave you ever grossed a specimen and realized that additional blocks needed to be printed? One of our Voicebrook employees remembers working on-site in the gross room years ago where he heard a pathologist's assistant remark, "I wish I could print blocks using VoiceOver."

We understood the frustration and went back to the team with the challenge of coming up with a solution to address this need.  We evaluated the process the site used to print blocks and developed a set of voice commands to achieve this.

Included below is a video that demonstrates this solution.

As you see, dictating text is not the sole function of VoiceOver. In fact, a Voicebrook colleague wrote a blog about some of the other functions: Hands Full? Edit, Format and Navigate Reports with Speech Recognition. If there are routine tasks you perform with each case, chances are, VoiceOver can accommodate the task.

This blog was specific to Sunquest PowerPath, but if you want to be able to add or print blocks in your AP system, or if you think VoiceOver can help with multiple key strokes/mouse clicks, contact our support team. We'll evaluate and implement it!
